Contrary to speculation surrounding the shifting of venues, IPL defending champions Mumbai Indians look all set to move their home matches in May to Visakhapatnam, the Andhra Pradesh port city. After the Bombay High Court ruling that matches would have to be shifted out of Maharashtra in view of the severe drought situation in the state, the BCCI and the franchises were left facing a huge logistical exercise in terms of finding alternate venues.
While Kings XI Punjab pulled out of Nagpur and Rising Pune Supergiants settled for Visakhapatnam, Mumbai Indians were caught in a mess after an initial go ahead to play in Jaipur after the Rajasthan High Court too intervened.
The team, not knowing where they'd be playing next, was left in a state of confusion, knowing that the last three 'home matches' will be crucial to their standing in the league table.
However, sources now say that instead of looking at any further options, the BCCI and Mumbai seem to have settled for Visakhapatnam for the three home matches in May . An official announcement could be out on Friday .
